Heirs of windmills, small wind power systems, also known as mini wind turbines, exploit the wind resource to produce electricity. Small wind power, or minieolic, is considered the production of electricity from wind sources made with the use of generators with a height of less than 30 meters.
The wind turbines can be used for an isolated user not connected to the electricity grid or connected both for a self-production in exchange and for the supply of energy to the network.
The difference with the large wind power lies not only in the size of the machines in the possibility of operating economically with wind regimes lower than those required by the huge industrial machines.
